Captain Rich Colombo
Capt Rich Colombo has been fishing the waters of the New York Bight for the past 30 years. He holds a USCG 100GRT Masters License, and has been a full-time charter captain for the last 12 years. Captain Rich acquired his knowledge of fishing over the years, working full time on party boats and charter boats in Brooklyn, Long Island and New Jersey. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he is very familiar with the navigable areas and local fisheries of the NY Bight. Capt Rich prides himself on adapting to various techniques of fishing that are the most productive, never limiting to one style. One of his main goals in the fishing charter business is to help bring fishing interest back to the youth and general public. To show a level of fishing that one will easily become addicted to. Most of all, to ensure a safe, fun, and memorable time on the water.
First Mate Felix
First Mate Felix has been aboard for the last 4 seasons. He has quickly become a favorite of all our regular patrons, and is skilled in all inshore fisheries. Felix also grew up in Brooklyn, NY and surf fished most of his life. He began working on party boats, eventually finding his way to the Rockfish. He takes his job seriously and the level of professionalism shows. Felix has an easy going personality that will compliment the fishing experience for all on board. He is enthusiastic about sharing his fishing knowledge, and enjoys teaching children on board how to leave the charter with a good catch.
Monte has been fishing since he was a small puppy. His favorite fish are bunker, but all fish on deck get his attention. His skills include sniffing out schools of baitfish, and cleaning the deck of any food crumbs that may fall. He is available to work your charter on special request.
